The Greenbrier

The Tom Watson Fall Golf Classic

October 10 - 12, 2010

For 30 years, The Greenbrier has enjoyed a strong relationship with one of golf’s greatest champions, Tom Watson.

His accomplishments in golf are legendary. As the only player to compete in all five Opens at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Watson accepted a special exemption to the U.S. Open on June 17–20, 2010. At 59, he’s also the oldest player to take the 54-hole lead of the British Open. In fact, he matched his best score in 37 years during the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club in April 2010.

Named The Greenbrier’s Golf Professional Emeritus in 2005, Watson is now helping celebrate the deep history and tradition of golf at The Greenbrier with this 36-hole Pro-Am golf tournament, October 10-12, 2010.

Surrounded by the beauty of fall in the Alleghenies, The Tom Watson Fall Golf Classic offers the ideal setting for a spectacular event taking place on two championship courses – the Snead Course and the famed Greenbrier Course, which has hosted both the International Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup matches and which will host the resort's first PGA TOUR event, The Greenbrier Classic.  Hosted by Tom Watson, this two-day tournament will allow guests the opportunity to interact and learn from a legend.  Tom will provide an instructional clinic and will also participate in team photos, autograph memorabilia and attend tournament events.

Guests are also welcome to enjoy any of the 50+ recreational activities available including The Greenbrier Spa, kayaking, historic tours, horseback riding, falconry and off-road driving.

The fun continues throughout the evenings as nightly receptions, dinners, music and dancing complete this memorable experience that makes The Greenbrier America’s Resort.  The Tom Watson Fall Golf Classic is a fantastic opportunity to meet the legendary golfer and experience one of his all-time favorite courses at The Greenbrier.
